Operation Summer

26 May

It’s summer again! Time to dig out those casual denims, maxis, largest shades possible, wide-brimmed hats etc etc and get flirty for this new and fun season.

Outfit plays an important role but so does your hair. This season is all about warm tones and throwing in some fun and sun into your locks! (:

I went to Salon Vim to update my very old bob, which is don’t know how many seasons ago hahaha. I wanted needed a change from my old do so I asked for advice on what can I do about my hair. Gary from Salon Vim told me it’s the spring/summer season and thus I would need to liven my hair colour up a lil bit to refresh my look.

And if you didn’t know, I’ve been wanting to cut my hair for the longest time now but I just didn’t have the guts to do it cos there wasn’t a salon I could trust. Until… I met Salon Vim! From my previous experiences with them and Chez Vous, I had a feeling that I could trust them and I did. So… I went from being the old boring me…

Yawns!! Boring…

To….

New me!

I wanted to take the pictures of the cutting process but I was too damn nervous and afraid to look at my reflection and watching Titus cut my hair!!! Ahhhh!! But I’m soooo happy it turned out great. Everyone’s been complimenting about my new hairdo!

Titus, my stylist, is really awesome. Although he was mighty busy that day, he took the time to sit down with me and listened to my every need and want from my hairstyle. I even showed him my reference and he told me exactly how he was going to cut it. I was so so pleased!!! I also told him a lot of things that I didn’t want (sorry I’m so demanding haha) and he knows exactly what! Kudos to Titus!!!

To make my hair pop, my old hair colour wasn’t going to do my new hair justice. Plus, I want to look like those runway models with their bronzed and healthy hair!!! So I decided to colour my hair as well.

I went for the milk tea kinda colour, a little copper-ish I might say and the effect turned out SUPER awesome!!

After washing out the dye.

Pre-treatment for my hair, which helps to replenish the nourishment lost when I was colouring my hair, and also preventing any more damage during chemical service.

Every kind of treatment for every kind of hair. Amazing!

My personalised hair care pack!

Because I coloured my hair, Salon Vim has kindly sponsored me L’Oreal’s Vitamino color and the hair masque. I also did their in-house signature treatment for coloured hair. I feel so pampered when I was there. On a very random note, they gave me biscuits when I told them I was hungry… So nice right!!!!

Faded highlights from my previous colouring. I love how it subtly stands out!

I super love the hair colour! It creates so much movement and texture as compared to a flat black tone, doesn’t it?

You know in normal salons, when they do highlighting for you, they just simply place random streaks of colour in your hair? Well, Salon Vim is different. Each highlights are placed according to my head shape to enhance my haircut, texture and flow of my hair to create the softness looking color. They have 2 different techniques: Mountain road and Boat sail inspired by top brands ie LV, Fendi, Bottega etcetc.

They use 2 techniques: Mountain road and boat sails.

Basically they will take bits of hair that makes a path like a mountain trail and highlight it!

or…

… the boat sail technique. With triangles!

The mountain road technique makes you look more elegant and feminine, as it pops but not too much in your face. As for the boat sail technique, it makes your colour pop and makes you stand out more!

Gary telling me all about the latest looks for Spring/Summer.

John and I. I think we have the same hairstyle hahahaha!

Me with Titus, my stylist. Thank you 10000000 years Titus for the awesome cut!

So… are you itching to get yourself a haircut? If you are, go go go!!! If not, here’s another reason why you should:

It’s spring/summer!! Get your hair fix at Salon Vim and go fun and flirty all the way! :)
